Wake Up Occupy Baltimore - MF Global Collapse

Last week three government financial watchdog agencies (including the SEC), which had likely been fast asleep, moved in on MF Global, which is run by Jon Corzine, past CEO of Goldman Sacks. At Mr. Corzine's direction the company put on an approximate $6.5 billion bet with 44/1 leverage, on European bonds. It turned out that they took the wrong side of the bet. According to the WSJ, Mr. Corzine spent all of last weekend trying to sell the company, but was not able to reach an agreement with a buyer because there was in excess of $600 million of depositor funds which were unaccounted for.

"You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election.

Separate Politicians from Corporations - Get the Money Out

End the $$$$ auction of the politicians in Washington DC. Dylan Ratigan (of Dylan Ratigan Show on MSNBC at 4PM M-F) has proposed a simple amendment to the constitution that cuts the head off of the snake. This amendment makes it illegal for private contributions (this includes both individuals and corporations) to federal government political candidates. It is a very clean, simple first step in re-aligning the government with the people. The petition to put it on the ballot has over 160000 signatures at this time (10-10-11) and has been open for about 1 1/2 weeks.
