School Board Meeting - Defend Baltimore Teachers

More than 200 hard-working & highly-qualified Baltimore City public school teachers are facing deportation due to failures of the school administration.

From 2005 to 2009 BCPSS recruited these highly-qualified and experienced teachers from the Philippines, Jamaica, and other places around the globe. For the past seven years they have been exemplary teachers, going above and beyond the call of duty for the sake of Baltimore and our youth.

BCPSS is now backing down on its promises of green card sponsorship. We risk losing hundreds of outstanding teachers, with no replacements in sight except from the underpaid and inexperienced young members of Teach for America.

Let's show our solidarity with these teachers who have come thousands of miles to dedicate their lives to the future of our city.
