B-HEARD (Baltimore Higher Education Alliance for Real Democracy)

The Baltimore Higher Education Alliance for Real Democracy (B-HEARD) is an affinity group of Occupy Baltimore comprised of faculty, staff and students interested in uniting and giving voice to the 99%. Our goals are to raise awareness and work for progressive social change by strengthening connections between Higher Education and Occupy Baltimore. We want to unify and motivate the college community around social justice issues in order to build a society that: • Puts people’s needs above corporate profits • Keeps corporate money out of politics • Puts money into schools, healthcare and infrastructure—not into war • Creates dignified jobs at dignified wages—for ALL
